Choosing the right equipment to assist with maintaining your independence can be a minefield. There are many variations if the same item, all essentially doing the same job but work very slightly differently; how can you choose which is the best type, make or model for you?
When your purchasing bigger items, it is important to establish the return policy or money back guarantee should you trial the product and then decide that it is not right for your needs. Sales advisers are very skilled at the jobs and as such my advice would be to approach with caution, and be clear about what it is you need.
Some equipment is still available through statutory services so if you want to save money and don’t mind waiting, then it may be worth contacting your local social services or speaking with a professional at the hospital or GP surgery when you next visit.
